We are reimagining a long-vacant hot spring inn as a base for digital nomads and remote workers — a place where focused work, outdoor adventure, and genuine community come together.
Guided by the principles of Regenerative Architecture, we are renovating this historic building with a shared kitchen, coworking lounge, and high-speed connectivity — while staying deeply connected to the onsen, mountains, lake, and local community that make Tazawako extraordinary.

This is not a simple renovation. Guided by Regenerative Architecture — a growing movement in Europe and North America — we are rebuilding using local timber, low-impact materials, and traditional Japanese Sakan plastering. The renovation itself is part of the story: we share it in real time and welcome volunteers, building a community of fans before we even open.

In exchange for 10–15 hours of meaningful work per week, your accommodation is fully provided. You won’t just be fixing a building — you’ll learn traditional craft, build real community, and live in one of Japan’s most untouched landscapes.

Booking & Cancellation Policy
We welcome stays from 2 weeks up to 6 months. A minimum of 2 weeks allows you to truly settle in, connect with the community, and get the most out of life in Tazawako.
Your first 14 nights are charged as a deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance, along with any extras, is settled at the end of your stay — or monthly for stays longer than one month. Payment by bank transfer or card on-site.
Your deposit is kept as a credit, valid for 12 months, and can be applied to a future booking. Credits are transferable to a friend if you can’t make it.
A 20% cancellation fee applies. The remainder is issued as credit, valid for 12 months from the original booking date.
A 50% cancellation fee applies. The remainder is issued as credit, valid for 12 months.
The full deposit is non-refundable.
If you shorten your stay by 14 days or more, our standard cancellation policy applies. For shorter reductions, the remaining rent for the cancelled period is due unless we are able to rebook the room. As our minimum stay is 2 weeks, last-minute rebooking can be difficult — we’ll always do our best.
